How to write and submit an abstract

Instructions for authors

All abstracts will be included in the Abstract CD in their exact submitted format. The authors are requested to abide by the writing instructions for abstracts. If this is not met, the abstract will be returned for editing. This may lead to rejection from overdue of the deadline.

 

A. Instructions for abstracts

1.      The text should not exceed 300 words – Tahoma fonts suggested, size 10 cpi – full justification.

2.      The title should be written in upper-case.

3.      Names of authors in the nominative, full first name preceding surname, in mixed-case, i.e., Michael Papadopoulos.

4.      The name of the presenting author should be in bold, i.e., Maria Dimopoulou.

5.      In the main text of the abstract, under the authors’ names, affiliations should be mentioned in mixed-case, i.e., Michael Papadopoulos1, Maria Dimopoulou2, Panagiotis Alexandrou1

1.      General Hospital of Veria, Veria

2.      General Hospital of Heraklion, Heraklion, Crete

6.      Affiliations should not be mentioned in the title or in the abstract.

7.      Line spacing should be 1.

8.      Structure of the abstract should be as follows:

1.      Introduction

2.      Aim of the study

3.      Materials and methods

4.      Results

5.      Conclusions

              The above titles and only should be in bold mixed-case.

9.     Case report abstracts will be included in a special section of the CD. In these cases the structure of abstract should be as follows:

1.      Introduction

2.      Materials

3.      Discussion

4.      Conclusions

              The above titles and only should be in bold mixed-case.

10.  Commonly used abbreviations, tables, graphs, and pictures can be included in the main abstract body, but with respect to page margins, and word count. The Word Count command of the Tools menu of Microsoft Office would be helpful.

11.  Topic and desired form of presentation should be annotated in the submission form.

12.  After submission, any changes will be rejected, with special exceptions. The request should be forwarded by the correspondent of the abstract.

13.  Abstracts containing remarks such as “results will be discussed” or “data will be presented” etc. will be rejected.

B. Instructions for abstract submission

Abstracts can be submitted electronically until 15/07/2019  31/07/2019, through the Congress web page.

To submit your abstract, fill the electronic submission form, and attach the abstract document in Microsoft Word format (any other format, such as PDF, will not be accepted).

These are:

      ii.    poster

You can annotate your presentation preference in the submission form.

Note that the final decision about the presentation form will be made by the Scientific Committee that will assess all the abstracts submitted.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

1.      Abstracts submitted after 15/07/2019   31/07/2019  will be rejected.

2.      The prerequisite for acceptance is payment of Congress fees, of at least one of the authors per abstract (preferably the presenting author). In the case that an author should be presenting more than once, then other authors too should also be enrolled in the Congress, so that for each presentation corresponding fees are paid. Fees payment should be completed within 3 days after disclosure of acceptance, otherwise, the presentation will not be included in the Final Program of the Congress.

3.      Within 2 working days after abstract submission, a confirmation email will be sent to the corresponding author. In case you do not receive a confirmation email until that time, please contact “Zita Congress.”

4.      Results after abstract assessment by the Scientific Committee will be announced to the correspondent authors by 10/09/2019.

Abstracts sent by FAX will be REJECTED.
